Nehemiah's Efforts for Jerusalem

Chapter 11 describes Nehemiah's efforts to populate Jerusalem. One tenth of all the people who were living in other cities in Judah and Benjamin were chosen by lot to move to Jerusalem. Others volunteered to move and were greatly honored.

Most of the Clan Leaders, the Priests, the Levites, the Temple Assistants and the descendants of Solomon's servants continued to live outside of Jerusalem in their own homes.
