This is an exhortation to get acquainted and live by the laws of wisdom. It is very similar to Chapter 2.
Verses 1 thru 14 compare the vanity of living without wisdom to the vanity of prostitution. Her life may seem smooth, but her end is bitter. We must heed the constraints of our teachers and live by their rules.
Verses 15 thru 20, describes the rules that are spoken of in the above verses. They are describes a remedies against sin.
Verses 21 thru 23, describes the high regard that we must have for God and the horrible end of the wicked. It all ends with a warning to young people the lusts of the flesh that war against the soul.
