The Just Delights the Lord

Proverbs 11

In this chapter we have 28 more doctrinal truths by Solomon.

  1. A false balance angers the Lord. A just balance delights the Lord.
  2. Pride brings shame, but humility brings wisdom.
  3. Integrity shall guide the upright, but the wicked shall be destroyed.
  4. Riches are of no prophet in the day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver you from death.
  5. Righteousness shall direct the perfect, wickedness shall destroy the evil.
  6. Life's expectations die with the wicked.
  7. The righteous is delivered out of trouble, the wicked are not.
  8. The mouth of the hypocrite destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.
  9. The city rejoices when it goes well for the righteous, they also rejoice when the wicked perish.
  10. The wicked despises his neighbor, but the just man keeps his peace.
  11. When there is no council, the people perish.
  12. He that is surety for a stranger is a fool.
  13. A gracious woman retains honor and a strong man retains riches.
  14. A merciful man does good for his own soul, but the cruel man does not.
  15. Deceitful works come from the wicked but the righteous shall receive a reward.
  16. The righteous works in the strength of the Lord, the evil in their own strength.
  17. Hypocrisy is an abomination to the Lord, the straightforward are his delight.
  18. The wicked shall be punished, the righteous shall be delivered.
  19. A jewel of gold in a pig's snout is like a woman without discretion.
  20. The righteous desire to do good, but the evil expect wrath.
  21. Charity produces wealth, selfishness produces poverty.
  22. Those who practice liberality shall prosper.
  23. He who stores corn shall be cursed but he who sells shall be blessed.
  24. He who seeks good shall find favor but he that does mischief shall be condemned.
  25. He that trusts his riches shall fall but he who trusts the Lord shall prosper.
  26. He that brings trouble upon his own house shall reap the wind and the fool shall be a servant to the wise.
  27. The fruit of righteousness is the tree of life.
  28. The righteous shall be compensated in this world.
