The Poor versus the Perverse
In this chapter be have 29 more doctrines by Solomon.
- Better is the poor that walks in integrity than the perverse who are
fools.
- A soul without knowledge is not good and he that does not take time
to think things out sins.
- The foolishness of man leads to problems and wrong doing which
causes him to be angry with the Lord.
- The wealthy man has many friends but the poor man is disregarded.
- A false witness shall be punished and he who lies shall not escape.
- Many will try to buy the favor of the rich for every man that gives
gifts is looked upon as a friend.
- The poor hates the man who gives gifts even his friend's stay away
from him even though he seeks after them.
- He that seeks after wisdom loves his own soul and he that embodies
understanding shall do good.

- A man that has no wisdom or grace does not deserve joy nor should he
rule over his superiors.
- Great is the man that controls his anger it is to his glory to over
look a transgression.
- The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion but his favor is like
dew upon the grass.
- A foolish son is a burden to his father and a nagging wife is a
continual disturbance.
- A house and inheritances are gifts of our fathers but a wife is a
gift from the Lord.
- Laziness causes a man to do or know nothing and his idleness shall
cause him to go hungry.
- He that keeps the commandment keeps his own soul but he that
despises the way shall die.
- He that lends to the poor lends to the Lord and it will be returned
to him many fold.
- Chasten your son while there is still hope and don't let his crying
deter you.
- A man of great anger will suffer punishment and he will require it
over and over again.
- A man that listens to council and instruction will be wise when he
gets old.
- There are many desires in a man's mind most of them contrary to the
Lord however it is the council of the Lord that shall stand.
- We should make kindness the desire of our hearts and a poor man who
can promise you nothing is better than a rich man who promises but
does not deliver.
- The fear of the Lord guides our life and he who has it shall not be
visited with evil.
- A lazy man hides his own hand and will do nothing to create for
himself food.
- Punish the wicked and the average person will seek to stay away from
evil and commend the wise and he will understand knowledge.
- He that brings shame upon his own father and mother causes them
shame and reproach.
- We are to stay away from instruction that causes us to error even if
it is considered to be knowledge.
- A false witness scorns justice and their mouth devours iniquity.
- Judgments are prepared for scorners and stripes for the backs of
fools.
