Against Envy and foolishness
In this chapter we have 34 more doctrines by Solomon.
- Be not envious of evil men neither seek their presence.
- The heart of envious man studies destruction and his lips speaks
evil.

- By knowledge, the rooms of the house are filled with pleasant things.
- Yes, a wise man is strong and a man of knowledge increases in
strength.
- By wise shall you make war and in a large number of councilors,
there is safety.
- Wisdom is too difficult for the fool so he opens not his mouth at
the gate.
- He that determines to do evil shall be called mischievous.
- To think foolishly is sin and the scorner is an abomination to man.
- If you faint in face of adversity, you are weak.
- If we have the power to deliver those who may be in the path of
death, we should do so.
- If we try to plead ignorance as the excuse for not helping a
brother, we sin. Shall not it be rendered to every man according to
his works.
- Study wisdom both for the pleasure of it and for the reward of
knowledge.
- For in the study of wisdom there is surly a reward that is surly
yours.
- Let not the wicked lay in wait for the righteous to destroy his
resting place.
- The just man may fail many times but he always rises up but the
wicked always falls into mischief.
- Do not rejoice when your enemy falls.
- If you rejoice at you enemies trouble the Lord may turn his
displeasure from him.
- Do not be concerned nor envious of evil men.
- For the light of the wicked man shall be put out.
- Fear the Lord and the powers that be and contend not with those who
are subject to change.
- The destruction of those who are subject to change is sudden.
- It is not good to be friendly with persons in judgment.
- He that excuses the wicked shall be a curse to the people.
- He that rebukes the wicked shall be blessed.
- Everyone should give the kiss of allegiance to the one who judges
rightly.
- You must prefer necessities to conveniences.
- Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause.
- Do not render evil for evil.
- The field of the lazy should be avoided.
- It is grown over with thorns and the wall is broken down.
- In observing it I got a great deal of good advice and instruction on
what not to do.
- For the lazy loves sleep and folds his hands in easiness.
- For this they shall live in poverty.
