About Boasting and Other Foolish Things
In this chapter we have recorded another 27 doctrines of Solomon.
- Boast not about tomorrow for we know not what tomorrow will bring.
- Do not phrase yourself, but let another man phrase you.
- A fool's wrath is weightier than sand or stone.
- Wrath and Anger are cruel but who can stand before envy.
- Open rebuke is better than secrete love.
- A friends council is better than an enemies kiss.
- A full soul is not conducive to council but to a hungry soul
everything is sweet.
- A man out of his environment is like a bird out of its nest.
- A friends cheerful council is like perfume, it rejoices the heart.
- Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother that is a far off.
- My son be wise that I might stand before those who doubt my ability
to raise children.
- A wise man recognizes evil and stays away from it but the fool
continues on and is punished.
- Do not lend money unless they give you good security.
- Give everyone their just due; false phrasing can become a curse.
- The rain on a rainy day and the words of a grievous woman are alike,
they cannot be stopped.
- A wise man would hide a grievous woman if he could but that is as
impossible as hiding the results of the wind.
- Wise discourse with others sharpens our wits like iron sharpens iron.
- The tender of trees shall eat the fruit there of and the faithful
servant shall be honored.
- As the reflection of the face is true so is the heart of man.
- The heart of a carnal man is never satisfied just as hell is never
full.
- As silver and gold is refined by fire so a man is by phrase.
- Rough and sever methods must be used on the foolish to deter his
disobedience.
- Be constantly aware of the well being of your herds.
- Like riches and the crown, nothing endures from one generation to
another.
- By the providence of God nature provides to those who cultivate.
- Lambs are raised for clothing and rams for wages.
- Goats are raised for their milk.
