This chapter brings us 28 more doctrines from Solomon.

  1. The wicked flee even when no one threatens but the righteous is not afraid.
  2. The leaders of nations sin and cause the destruction there of but the man of understanding can save it.
  3. A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a rain that destroys everything.
  4. The lawless phrase the wicked but the righteous judge them.
  5. Evil men do not understand judgment but those who seek the Lord understands all things.
  6. It is better to be poor and walk in the Lord than to be rich and walk in sin.
  7. A Wise son keeps the law but one that walks in inequity shames his father.
  8. He that gains riches by unjust means will not live to enjoy it but will leave it to those for whom he has no concern.
  9. Those who disobey the law shall find their prayers an abomination to the Lord.
  10. He who leads the righteous astray shall fall into his own pit.
  11. A rich man is wise in his own eyes but a poor who has wisdom is richer by far.
  12. Often when wicked men arise, good men are obscured.
  13. Men with unconfessed sins may prosper but those who confess their sins shall have mercy.
  14. Fear of the Lord produces happiness but those of hardened hearts shall fall into mischief.
  15. A wicked king rules over the people like a roaring lion.
  16. A ruler that lacks understanding is a great oppressor but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.
  17. A man who commits violence and runs shall condemn himself; no one needs do it for him.
  18. He who walks uprightly shall be saved but he who is wicked shall fall.
  19. He who tills his land shall have plenty but he who is lazy shall have poverty.
  20. A faithful man shall be blessed he that becomes rich quick has surly sinned.
  21. A man's guilt must be decided upon the merits of the case not upon the merits of the man.
  22. The path to quick riches is often evil.
  23. Good council is better than flattery.
  24. He that takes from his father on the grounds that it will he his someday anyway, is no better than a robber.
  25. A proud heart causes strife but he that trusts in the Lord shall prosper.
  26. He that trusts in himself is a fool but he that walks wisely shall be delivered.
  27. He that gives to the poor shall never lack for anything but he that does not shall be cursed.
  28. Men hide themselves from the wicked but when the wicked perish, they celebrate.
