About the Righteous and the Scornful

In this chapter we have 27 more doctrines by Solomon.

  1. He that hardens his heart shall be destroyed and for this there is no remedy.
  2. When the righteous is in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked are in authority they mourn.
  3. He that keeps company with harlots spends his inheritance and causes his father to mourn.
  4. The king by judgment establishes the laws of the land but he that is persuaded by gifts and bribes will destroy it.
  5. A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for him.
  6. A wicked man is caught in a snare but the righteous man is free and rejoices.
  7. The righteous considers the poor but the wicked do not.
  8. Scornful men bring a city into trouble but the wise will turn away wrath.
  9. If a wise man contends with a foolish man there is no contest.
  10. The bloodthirsty hates the just because the just seek his soul.
  11. A fool tells it all but the wise saves some for later.
  12. If a ruler listens to lies his servants are wicked.
  13. The poor and the deceitful are both enlightened by the Lord.
  14. The king that is just toward the poor shall reign forever.
  15. Discipline the child and he will not bring shame to his mother.
  16. When the wicked multiply, crime multiplies but eventually the righteous shall se their fall.
  17. Correct your son and he shall delight your soul.
  18. Where there is no vision, the people perish.
  19. A servant that will not be corrected by words may still understand but is too slothful to obey.
  20. A man who speaks before he thinks has less hope than a fool.
  21. A man who raises a servant from a child shall have another son.
  22. An angry man stirs up strife.
  23. A man's pride shall bring him down.
  24. Whoever is a pardoner with a thief hates his own soul.
  25. The fear of man creates a snare but he who trusts in the Lord is safe.
  26. You may seek the favor of the king but judgment comes from the Lord.
  27. A just man is an abomination to the wicked and the wicked man is an abomination to the just.
