Psalm 17 Author David. "Hide me under the shadow of your wings." Here David was under great distress and danger from his enemies, so he, by prayer, seeks God's refuge and shelter for himself. He describes his enemies as wicked, lions and worldly.
Here David declares his integrity and asks God to uphold him in this integrity and preserve him from the false accusations of his enemies. He suggests that God look at the character of these people and see the need that he has of the Lord's preservation. He comforts himself in the "hope of the future" in this he was like Christ, knowing the Glory that would be His after the resurrection.
