Trust God for Deliverance

Click here to read Psalms 60.

Psalm 60 Author David. A prayer of deliverance for the nation. Written to the chief musician with instructions that it was to be sung to the tune "The Lilie of Testimony". It was written for private meditation. It was to be taught, by the Levites, to the people so they would trust God and be victorious and triumphant in Him. It was written on a day of triumph when he had defeated the Syrians and the Edomites and left 12,000 of them dead on the field.

There are 4 important parts to this 60th. Psalm:

  1. David reflects back over the bad years.
  2. David takes notice of the change for the good in the people and God's care sense he had become king.
  3. David prays for God's continued deliverance from their enemies.
  4. David looks forward to continued success over his enemies.

Matthew Henry suggests that we use this Psalm personally to reflect on our own lives and the life of the church.
