Psalm 64 Author David. A prayer for God's protection. Written to the chief musician. Here David prophesies the destruction of his enemies, his persecutors and his slanderers. Here David describes his enemies as men who were destined, by their own wickedness, to ruin. This Psalm reminds us of the "enmity" that is between the "seed of the woman" and the "seed of the serpent" as the result of God's judgment for the sin of Eve.
In this Psalm David prays for God to preserve him from the malicious designs that his enemies have on his life. He goes to great length to describe them and to prophesy their ruin because of their wickedness. This judgment would bring encouragement to all of God's people and bring glory to God.
