God Reminds His People

Click here to read Psalms 81.

Psalm 81 Author A-saph. God's Plea for Israel's Obedience. It had instructions that it was to be sung to a particular tune. It was used in connection with a Temple ordinance, either the Feast of the New Moon or the Feast of the Trumpets. It is believed that when David, led of the Spirit, introduced Psalms into the Temple service, this Psalm was used.

Two purposes of worship are spoken of in this Psalm:

  1. To phrase God.
  2. To receive His instruction.

God, thru the Palmists,

  1. Reminds His people of their obligation to Him.
  2. Reminds them of the danger of rebellion.
  3. Reminds them of the Blessings of obedience.

The wisdom of the teachings in this Psalm is still there for us today.
