Instructions to the Judges

Psalm 82 Author A-saph. The Rebuke of Israel's urgent Judges. No specific instructions are given to the Chief Musician. This Psalm was written to the Judges of the Courts of Israel to:

1. Remind them of their duties (II Sam. 23).
2. To tell them of their faults.
3. To proclaim the dignity of the Court.
4. To declare their dependence upon God.

Though this Psalm was written particularly for Judges and Magistrates it should give us comfort when we read it knowing the God presides over the affairs of justice and that even the most powerful in the land are not without answering to God.
