Do Not Become Complacent

Click here to read Psalms 95.

Psalm 95 Author unknown. No specific instructions to the chief musician. The Author of the book of Hebrews appears in Chapters 3 and 4 to believe that this Psalm was written by David. He further believes that it speaks of the Dispensation of Grace, the time when God speaks to us by His Son and proposes a "promise land" other than Canaan. The Psalmist gives his opinion as to the intended purpose of singing psalms.

  1. That we might make a "joyful" noise unto the Lord.
  2. That we might teach and admonish ourselves.

He concludes with a warning, "Do not become complacent with the familiarity of teaching or worship". This could lead to indifference and the hardening of the heart which inevitably lead to the wrath of God.
