This Psalm is known as the "Soldier's Psalm" It may have been penned by David while out during the many campaigns of war in which he was involved. Some call it the "Traveler's Psalm" and may very well have been pinned by David on one of his visits to other nations. It certainly deals with the dangers of travel. It is good instruction to all who leave the comfort and protection of home to put their trust in the protection of the Lord and by faith, commit ourselves to His care. Here David does just that and encourages others to do the same.
