The Pain of Separation

In this chapter we see a time when the bride seeks the Bridegroom and cannot find him. She sought Him at home, she sought Him abroad, she inquired of the watchman, but she could not find Him.

Soon after she inquired of the watchman and got no satisfaction, she found her beloved. From that time on she kept Him very close to her. She took Him to all her friends and relatives to make them acquainted with Him. She makes sure that no one, not even the daughters of Jerusalem, cause Him any trouble.

The daughters of Jerusalem reply to her plea and now see her in a different light. The "blackness" that once caused them trouble no longer bothers them. They now speak to her with great respect. The admire her but she overlooks their phrases. She gives her Bridegroom all the credit for her transformation.

She explains that there are three things that she admires of Him. One, the safety of His presence, two, The splendor of His conveyance and three, the luster of His royal person.
