The message in this chapter is much the same as the preceding chapter. It is to give them hope in spite of the rebuke from the lord for not rebuilding the Temple. As a result of this, their enemies currently surrounded them. Yet here God promises to bless them and prosper them and make them victorious over their enemies.
Notice that they are here directed to see in all the events that happen to them, the hand of the Lord. They are also encouraged to expect strength from Him in all of their struggles and always have hope that these issues will come to pass in God's time.
