Promised Forgiveness

Continuing on with the theme of the previous chapter, Chapter 13 details the blessings of the "gospel times". It promises the forgiveness of sins and the availability of spiritual growth for sinners. Also the conviction and silencing of false prophets is predicted during this age. On the down side, is the act that was necessary in order that the above predictions could come true and that was the "sufferings of Christ". Prophesied also is the dispersion of the Disciples by the Lord, they wanted to remain in Jerusalem after the ascension of Christ. The destruction of a greater part of the Jewish nation and the purifying of a remnant of them is seem as a necessary part of the work of the Messiah.
